The rolling 12 month ranking will include any
event that took place, in part or in its entirety, within the 12 months of the
start date of the event in question, based on the normal ranking and discard
rules. This will give a more balanced opportunity and will eliminate the
current bias towards events at the start of the season and the particular conditions that exist at those venues, giving
equal value to all events that a competitor has taken part in during the last
12 months,
Qualifying Round – The Qualifying round at events will usually be run with 2 heats of 4
sailors with the top 2 sailors in each heat qualifying for the main event, but
if time and forecasts permit then a more comprehensive elimination system may
be run giving sailors more than one chance to get through, however this will
only be run in exceptional circumstances.
At events which are
massively oversubscribed, and where time permits, the trials heats may be
expanded to include more sailors at the discretion of the PWA to a maximum of
12.
